Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty is a surgical treatment for droopy eyelids.  As one ages, the skin of the eyelids loses its elasticity and begins to stretch out and sag.  This, along with prolapsing of the fat around the ee socket, can result in a drooping of the eyelids known as dermatochalasis.

The sagging eyelid skin results in a tired appearance and can impact one’s peripheral vision, especially seeing objects on the sides and above.  The only treatment is with blepharoplasty.  This is an outpatient surgery that removes the excessive sagging skin with a healing time of  approximately 4 weeks.
